Illinois Workers’ Compensation Law provides for compensation when a worker is injured on the job.
Illinois Courts have ruled that if a motor vehicle crashes into an office and injures a desk worker, then the injured worker is not entitled to money and medical treatment. The basis for the decision was that the worker was not at increased risk compared to the general public.
That would mean if the Balloon crashed on a tree trimmer or a construction worker they would get Work Comp payments, but not if the balloon crashed into an office building and hurt someone.
