When should you file for Social Security Disability?
If you are working full time you cannot file.
If you are working and making over $1,000 a month gross you cannot file.
But if you are not working due to an injury, illness, or condition you may file.
In addition, if you are working only part time and making less than $1,000 a month gross due to your injury, illness or condition you may file.
There is really no reason to delay filing.
The process may take 15 to 24 months so it is smart to start as soon as possible.
There are no filing fees.
There are no upfront attorney fees.
The Federal Government regulates attorney fees and only allows contingent fees.
This means you only pay if you win.
You may also lose benefits if you wait too long to file.
