Your Workers’ Compensation Trial is a very important event.
Here are some tips to think about before your trial.
- Do not argue. The insurance company attorney will sometimes try to make you upset. This does not help you. Stay calm and stick to the facts.
- Slow down. The Arbitrator and the court reporter need to understand your testimony. If you get nervous and talk to fast, or mumble this will make it difficult for the Arbitrator and court reporter to follow you.
- Think about the question before you answer. It does not help to go off on a tangent, or not answer the question asked.
- Do not exaggerate. You must tell the truth.
- Do not down play your condition. The Arbitrator needs to understand how your condition limits you today.
Remember, your Workers’ Compensation trial is your chance to explain how your accident happened and how it has effected your life.
