Just an observation.
Nothing offical or no statistics to back it up.
But I think Social Security Disability Judges are getting tougher.
They seem to be denying the borderline cases they once approved.
Compassion fatigue?
Subconscious pressure from politics, or deficit fears?
What are others seeing out there?
Last month I gave an estimate of how long Disability cases are taking in this region.
However, it appears to be getting worse.
The initial review and reconsideration are taking close to 3 months now.
The local Social Security office says this is because of reduced personnel.
It may be because personnel is being diverted to review whether people’s conditions have improved to the point they are no longer disabled.
Let me know how long your case is taking so we can take an informal survey of the delays people experience.
It still looks like 9 to 12 months waiting for your trial once you have reached the hearing stage.
