Workers Compensation Costs


There is no filing fee in Illinois to file a Workers’ Compensation case.

However, you must pay for medical records to prove your case.

You must also pay for a doctor to testify on your behalf.

This can cost from $600 to $1,500 for each doctor.

There are also court reporter costs.

All these costs are the responsibility of the injured worker.

The advantage of using a Work Comp lawyer is that they will pay for these costs up front, and you will not have to pay for them until you receive your settlement.

Any New Illinois Work Comp Claims?


Illinois Workers’ Compensation claims after August 31, 2011 are treated differently than old claims.

Insurance Companies will be watching these claims closely.

They will argue that their settlement value is reduced.

Work Comp companies will fight to find doctors who will testify that there is little or no permanent injury.

The value of settlement offers will probably be much lower.
