A student is attacked may file a lawsuit against the attacker and possibly the school district. You must show show damages to recover against the attacker and the district. This could include physical injuries and emotional damages.

Your Injury and Facebook

What you do and say may damage and decrease the value of your work injury or personal injury claim.

What you post on Facebook, twitter, youtube, instagram or other social media is subject to discovery by the insurance company and its attorneys.

For instance, if you allege you are restricted in your activities and you post pictures and videos of yourself sky diving, rafting, bunging jumping, or swinging from trees then you will face questions about the seriousness of your injuries, your credibility and face possible fraud charges.

Make sure that you do not exaggerate your injuries or limitations.

Make sure that you do not leave yourself open to second guessing with anything that remotely suggests you are able to do more than your restrictions.

In other words, be truthful and do not let the insurance company twist anything that shows up on the internet or social media. There may be an innocent explanation, however the insurance company and its attorneys will attempt to paint a picture of you that is not favorable.

Do not give them any ammunition.

Make sure that you receive experienced assistance from a lawyer that is looking out for your interests.
