What Should You Do When the Insurance Company Wants to Record You?

Many times an insurance company will want to talk to you and have you explain what happened in the work place accident or motor vehicle collision.

Are they just being curious or trying to help you out?

Be careful when the insurance adjuster asks to record your statement.

The recording transcript will surface at a later date and it will be used against you in a way that will not be helpful to you or your case.

The first rule is that the adjuster works for the company and the insurance company is not looking out for your interests. The company’s bottom line is to make money for its shareholders and board of directors.

You will not have a chance to explain what you meant in the recorded statement until you are at a deposition or in court and by then it will be too late.

When the adjuster approaches you about a recorded statement politely decline and seek out an experience lawyer to help you as soon as possible.

You will need someone to help you out against the insurance company and its lawyers.

The lawyers who will help you in work injury or personal injury cases do not charge you a fee until the case is over. This is helpful to you because you do not have to pay any up front money to them until they actually get money for you.
